Breck's Big Bed!!

So here is Breck after what we hoped to be his last nap in his crib. He loves his crib, but was really looking forward to his big bed as well. So Grandpa Burns brought up Shawn's old bed and here the boys are putting it together.

He was so excited we could hardly get it ready cause all he wanted to do was lay on it.

And here he is all tucked in and ready for bed....or so we thought!!

He has now slept 2 nights in his bed. Both nights have gone really well. It has taken some extra time putting him down at night but once he is settled in he has faded pretty quickly. He has however been getting up earlier than normal but hopefully after novelty wears off he will be more likely go sleep longer. Now we just need to work on naps....the first day we ended up using the crib after an hour of not sleeping. So hopefully today is another story!!

After Mommy's doctor appt....

Breck came with Shawn and I to one of our appointments yesterday morning and when we got home he kept laying down on his "bed" and lifting up his shirt using an old lint brush roller as a doppler to listen to the baby's heart beat. He would even say "woosh, woosh, woosh" the sound he heard for the heartbeat. How sweet is that!!!

Spicy/Sour Face!

Ever since I can remember Breck has made this face whenever he eats anything that he feels is spicy, sour, sweet, tangy, juicy, carbonated.....and he does it more when he gets a reaction out of people! These faces were after eating Kiwi. Not only does he pucker his lips, but he shakes his head back and forth, shrugs his shoulders, and makes tight fists...and finishes it off by saying "SPICY"!!!

Breck's Hockey Rink!!

Shawn painted Breck his own "Hockey Rink"in our basement because Breck loves to play and we are down there numerous times a day. Now instead of asking us to play hockey downstairs he either askes to play on the hockey rink or the ice skating rink downstairs. He is loving it. Although it is still a work in progress!! We now have some lines painted on it and are working on goal lines and face off circles. It's been a fun project.

Shay, Breck and Swimming :)

Our friends Brett, Rachel and Shay came up for a visit this past weekend. It was another college friends 30th Birthday so we went out to dinner at the Brewhouse. Here are a few pictures of the kids entertaining themselves .....:)

Then we heading to their hotel for a little swimming. Breck LOVED the water....Shay took a little coaxing to get in, but once all were in they had a great time. Breck wanted to jump into daddy's arms over and over again!!

He blew a few bubbles, but the water didn't really taste like bath water :(

And Brett and Shay did back floats, spins, and found some kids with a ball to play with too.

We had a great time and the kids really enjoy each others company even though sharing is a little difficult they never wanted to be too far away from each other. It's so fun to watch them becoming friends!!

Making his own Juice!

Breck has always loved his fruit, but this morning after we peeled our orange and were eating it. He started to create!!! He told me the orange was juicy and then wanted some juice. I told him he could have water......so he made his own.

He used the orange peeler to cut up the orange and then added the pieces to his water and stired it up. He took a few drinks with the chunks in it, but realized it wasn't working so well. So he took them back out and just drank the "orange juice". He was very proud of himself!!

I have been noticing that when Breck is playing or working hard on something the Michael Jordan tongue comes out. Here it was everytime a new block was added to the pile when I saw it.

I don't know how he did it but somehow Breck got his sunglasses on Mazie and I got a picture of it. And I even got a picture of both of them...Breck giving her a kiss....before she got them off! How cute!

Snowplow Addicts and Baby!

So for those of you who know Shawn....he is obsessed with Snowplows. I think that is the only thing that will get him out of bed early is when he hears the sound of them coming up the street! Well Breck is the same way....so I quick snapped a picture of the 2 of them with their noses smashed up against the window watching a grader go by. They were both so excited!

Breck is just now starting to get that there is a baby in mommy's tummy, he has always talked to it and kissed it, but now he is actually getting it.....I think. Anyways these are from the couch the other day when Breck was listening to the baby and telling it that he was the big brother. And he always likes touching the big belly too!
