BUNK BEDS!!!

The boys have been asking for bunk beds for a long time, but Shawn and I weren't sure we were ready for that.  They both go down so well at night we didn't want to change that :)  So here is Breck's room before the change.

And here is Cullen's room.  Which will now hopfully be a sewing room/play room/and guest room.

And here is Breck AND Cullen's new room!  Bunk beds, check.  Two excited boys, check.  Many nights of laughing, talking, and secrets... priceless.  So far so good - they are enjoying being together.  Breck's favorite part is the ladder :)

Beautiful Hike

The weather has been really warm and sunny lately so we took advantage of the gorgeous day and went for a hike.  Well, we thought it was going to be a hike but Breck and Cullen had other plans.  They weren't really keen on the idea of just doing lots of walking.

So they both planted themselves in the snow to take a break (after about 3 minutes of walking).  They also started throwing snow at us and thought they were really funny!

We got them up and moving again by having them look for tracks in the snow.  Here they are investigating their findings.  Breck thought squirrel and Cullen thought lion.

And the snowball fight began!!  I had to put the camera away for a bit so I could get in on the fun too.  It was perfect snowball conditions :)  We all got pretty wet!

Mazie had her own fun.  She did lots of running, exploring, and lying around.  She also likes to eat lots of snow.

We spent an hour and a half walking, playing, and diving in the snow.  Here is Cullen covered in snow and having a hard getting up.  Hope we get a few more hikes in before all the snow is gone!

Catch up

Breck is becoming more and more interested in writing numbers and letters these days.  I will find him at the table now on his own working on writing.  This day I found him with the whole alphabet and numbers up to 20 on his own.  Then I helped him talk through 25.  SO proud of him! 

Cullen is also learning because he wants to be like big brother.  He works more on puzzles then on writing, but likes to do both.  He is really good at his number puzzle 0-9, and getting better at the letters.  There are just so many more of them :) he gets distracted.

Breck had his friend Eli and his brother Tomas over the other night.  I thought our boys loved hockey, well, these boys do too!  The 4 of them played hockey for hours.  Bulldogs (my boys) against the Gophers (Eli/Tomas).  So much fun.  I got them to pose for a team photo at the end of the game :)

And to top it off, Uncle Jimmy and Aunt Kathy stopped by yesterday on their way to Ely.  Jimmy got the golf ball on the tee (something we haven't been able to do yet) so the boys had to pose for a pic.  Great seeing you guys, thanks for stopping by!

Fun Jamboree

Glen Avon hosted an open Jamboree on a Beautiful Saturday afternoon.  We had a great time watching the kids have so much fun!  Breck on a breakaway :)

Family Fun Night!

The boys always ask to go to Adventure Zone now.  It is the new place to be I guess.  So we went there last weekend for a fun night out.  Cullen loves to ride the train, old car, and hot rod.  Sometimes I don't know why we paid for games when he always ends up back on these things (which are free!)  

Breck played a few rounds of mini golf.  He gets better and better each time he plays.  And when I say better, I mean more patient.  He still wants to hit, hit, hit, and usually before the ball stops rolling.  But as time when on he lined up his shots, aimed, and got a 2 or 3 on most holes.  Keep up the good work, Breck!

Then we tried this new game of virtual sports.  We played soccer :)  Here is Breck's victory dance!  He scored lots of goals....maybe a future soccer player!

And my beast, Culleybear!  He wasn't as worried about scoring as he was about shooting his hardest.  People walking by had to stop and watch as this little man ripped shots at the screen.  Notice his cheering section on the left :)  I guess there still is hope for soccer in my future ( I mean their future!)

Valentine's Day

Breck had a Valentine's Day Tea at his school, so Shawn, Cullen and I headed there to see him.  The group sang a few love songs (Breck is standing in the back middle, red shirt with a tie) and then he took us around his school to do lots of things together!

So to top off our exciting Valentine's day we had another adventure in the evening.  We picked Shawn up from work to come home and grill a steak dinner.  So we played, cooked dinner, visited our neighbors quick and then came home to eat.  At the end of dinner Shawn asked where Mazie was (she is usually under the table hoping for food to fall, but wasn't there.)  We called for her and nothing.  So Shawn headed outside to look.  After 10 min., nothing, which is really weird..she doesn't go far.  So the boys and I geared up and went out to help.  We looked up and down the block, the park, the creek, and the alley, but nothing.  The boys got cold, so I told them we would get in the car and drive around.  At this point our friend Doug was now helping us look as well.  When the boys and I got to the garage I saw something in the car.  Well, we found Mazie :)  We had left her in the truck when we got home.  Oops, a first for me.  I usually don't bring her with to pick Breck up from school, but we were gone all day and I felt bad for her.  Shawn didn't even know she was with.  So, when we got home both boys started whining, I was on the phone with my mom, and it was a little chaotic so I didn't even look.  

She was fine, a little hungry but excited to see us.  The boys were relieved (as was I)  Breck had already shed a few tears about her never coming home, not being able to cuddle her again, so seeing that tail wag definitely made our day :)   Needless to say she got a lot of love that night!!!

Cullen Cullen Cullen :)

Cullen is now showing the same interest in being a goalie that his brother does.  So he puts on his brothers shin pads and shoulder pads, his dads old college jersey, his helmet, and an old cardboard box as his blocker.  Creative and Cute!!

Who is that?  It has taken him since Novembeard to grow his stache but it sure looks good, doesn't it?  It makes him look so grown up! 

Guess where else Cullen went this past week?  He had his first real check up.  He had his teeth counted last year and sat in the chair, but today he had the full experience!!  And he did so incredibly well.

He sat so still, followed all the instruction from Debbie, and even asked her to squirt more water in his mouth.  That was his favorite part :)  I was very impressed with him.  He is getting to be so big!

Burns Visit

Mike and Carol came up for the weekend and where else would we take them to but to the rink!  The boys both skated and we all took turns passing and shooting with them.

Cullen has refused to put his skates on lately but we convinced him to put them on for a bit so Gma and Gpa could see him stake.  He did really well too, but only last about 10 minutes before wanting his boots back on.  Guess he just wants to move faster than his skates let him go at this point.

Then on Saturday we headed to the Bulldog vs. Mavrick hockey game.  It was not a good weekend for the Dogs but we had a wonderful time.  Here the boys are before the game with their new Champ hats.

Chow time!  Grandma got the boys ice cream and I got some popcorn.  But Cullen finished his ice cream so fast he was on to my popcorn before I even had a couple bites.  Between hockey and food... what else do you need?
